Belarusian State Puppet Theatre

Founded in 1938 and is the oldest puppet theatre in Belarus. Its periods of efflorescence are closely connected with the work of two directors Anatoly Lelyavsky and Alexey Lelyavsky. The plays attract the audience with a fresh and unexpected vision of national, foreign, classic and modern literary work. They are also notable for their conceptual direction and scenic design, outstanding acting technique and fascinating supporting music. Flash-animation and multimedia tools used in the shows help create significant and unforgettable performances. Belarusian State Puppet Theatre is a multiple award winner of puppet theatre festivals held in Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Belgium, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, France, Switzerland and Estonia. Honored Collective of the Republic of Belarus.

Alexey Lelyavsky

The main director-producer of Belarusian State Puppet Theatre. Has put up over seventy shows for children and adults. Has worked in puppet theatres in Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia and Slovenia. Is the art director if the Belarusian International Puppet Theatre Festival, is a laureate of the Leninskiy Komsomol Award, the L. Mazolevskaya Award, the Н. Dorman Prize for the contribution to the development of Polish puppet theatres. Was awarded the medal in honor of Francysk Skaryna. Laureate of the I and III National theatre awards in Belarus. Laureate of the Golden Mask theatre festival (Moscow). Is an Honored arts worker of the Republic of Belarus.
