The Republican Theatre of Belarusian Drama

Honored Collective of the Republic of Belarus. Established in Minsk in 1991 as the laboratory for modern Belarusian dramaturgy. There is the Centre for Belarusian Dramaturgy founded by the theatre, which is the platform for popularization of modern Belarusian plays. The theatre repertoire is rich with dramas, comedies and documentary staging, the first one on the stage of a repertoire theatre. The majority of them is modern Belarusian drama. RTBD is among the theatres creating their performances in the Belarusian language.

Eugene Korniag
Eugene Korniag

One of the most prominent young Belarusian theatre directors. He performs in the field of plasticity theatre. All his stagings are full of experiments: from sound and light to idea and emotions. Korniag never uses drama texts for his performances, instead, he creates the performances within the working process with the actors. His stagings are devoted to the current society concerns.
